Furkidz Grooming – Terms & Conditions
Please ensure you have read and agreed to the following prior to booking an appointment.
Appointments
Clients are encouraged to pre-book future appointments, as Furkidz Grooming is often booked weeks in advance and even months during busy periods.
To ensure your pet’s comfort and consistent grooming routine, maintaining a regular schedule of every 4–8 weeks is strongly recommended.
Pets who have not visited Furkidz Grooming for more than 9 weeks will incur a higher service rate.
Regular clients on a maintained schedule will always be prioritised.
Cancellations
I understand that unforeseen situations may arise. If you need to cancel or reschedule for a non-emergency, at least 24 hours’ notice is required.
Last-minute cancellations result in lost income and missed opportunities for other clients.
Appointments cancelled or rescheduled less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled time will incur a $30 fee if the appointment cannot be filled.
Failure to pay this fee within 48 hours may result in refusal of future services.
If more than two consecutive cancellations occur, all pre-booked appointments will be automatically cancelled.
A non-refundable 50% deposit may be required to secure future bookings after repeated cancellations.
No-Shows
Failure to attend an appointment without any notice will result in a charge as follows:
1st occurrence: 50% of the booked service fee
2nd occurrence: 75% of the booked service fee
3rd occurrence: 100% of the booked service fee
4th occurrence: Refusal of future service
Invoices will be issued via email and must be paid prior to your next booking.
Unpaid fees will result in cancellation of all future appointments.
Late Arrivals
If you are running late, please contact the salon.
To maintain smooth scheduling, appointments may be cancelled if you arrive more than 15 minutes late without contact, and a $30 cancellation fee will apply.
Public Holidays
Furkidz Grooming is closed on most public holidays and weekends.
If an appointment is required on a public holiday, a 25% surcharge will be added to the final service fee.
Appointment Reminders
A text reminder will be sent 48 hours prior to your appointment.
You must reply “YES” to confirm you’re booking.
If no response is received by 4:00 pm the same day, your appointment will be automatically cancelled and offered to another client.
Please review your appointment time carefully, as minor adjustments (up to 30 minutes earlier or later) may be made. Early drop-offs are available at no additional cost.
Arrival Policy
All dogs must arrive on a leash — strictly, no leash, no entry.
Only dogs booked for grooming may enter the property; visiting pets are not permitted.
This ensures the safety of all clients and animals on the premises.
Dogs must be up to date with vaccinations. Proof of vaccination may be requested at any time, and you may be asked to present your vaccination record at your first visit.
All pets must also be free of fleas upon arrival.
Fleas
If fleas are found during your pet’s appointment, you will be notified immediately.
A minimum $25 cleaning and treatment fee will be applied to cover flea shampoo, additional grooming time, and salon sanitation.
Capstar tablets are available for $7.50 each.
Matted Coats
Furkidz Grooming follows a “Humanity Over Vanity” approach.
Your pet’s comfort and wellbeing always come first. If your dog’s coat is matted, I may recommend a comfort clip instead of a style cut.
This will be discussed prior to grooming.
Matted coats will be clipped short (3mm blade or shorter).
I do not perform de-matting, as it is painful and unsafe for your pet.
An additional minimum $10 fee applies for matted coats or excessive equipment wear.
Medical History
Please inform staff of any medical conditions, allergies, behavioural issues, or pre-existing injuries before your appointment.
Accidents
Although rare, minor accidents can occur during grooming. Equipment is sharp, and even with the greatest care, nicks or scratches may happen — especially if a pet moves suddenly.
If any incident occurs, it will be immediately communicated to you.
If a pet requires veterinary treatment due to matting, age, aggression, or pre-existing conditions, the owner is responsible for all veterinary costs.
Every effort will be made to contact you before any treatment is sought.
Behaviour
Pets that require muzzling, attempt to bite, or show signs of aggression or extreme nervousness will incur higher grooming rates due to the additional time and care required.
If grooming cannot be safely completed, the full service fee still applies.
I reserve the right to refuse service to any pet whose behaviour poses a risk to itself or to me.
Owner Attendance
For safety reasons, owners are not permitted to remain in the salon during grooming.
Dogs may become excited and difficult to manage when their owner is present.
Your cooperation ensures I can work safely and efficiently.
In rare cases, I may ask for your assistance if necessary.
Pick-Up & Drop-Off
You will receive a text or call once your pet’s groom is complete.
The first hour after notification is free of charge.
After that, a fee of $5 per half hour applies unless prior arrangements are made.
Early drop-offs before 8:00 am and late pick-ups after 4:30 pm are no longer available.
If you arrive early before being notified, please wait in your car — entering the salon early may disrupt the grooming process.
Satisfaction Guarantee
Your satisfaction is important. If you are unhappy for any reason, please discuss it at pick-up so adjustments can be made immediately.
Once your pet leaves the salon, touch-ups are only available within 24 hours of the appointment and may incur a grooming fee after that time.
Photography
Furkidz Grooming may take photos of pets for advertising, education, or social media purposes.
Please inform me if you prefer your pet not to be photographed.
Payment Policy
All payments must be made before collecting your pet.
Accepted payment methods:
Cash – the good old-fashioned way (Cash is King!)
PayID – using 0401 876 407 (please send payment receipt via text for confirmation)
EFTPOS – available in-salon (1.9% surcharge applies to all card transactions)
Pre-payments are no longer accepted, as additional charges may apply depending on your pet’s behaviour, coat condition, or extra services such as:
Nail filing
Ear plucking
Flea treatment
Mattered coat management
This policy remains ongoing and applies to all future appointments.
Agreement
By placing and accepting a booking with Furkidz Grooming, you agree to abide by all terms and conditions listed above.
This agreement acts as your ongoing consent, even without a physical signature.
